FINALLY!! Some gosh dang conflict, but F me the tragedy. Every good space story needs one. Rest in Peace Rocky.

This book has a little bit too much plot armor to be super enjoyable at times. Wish there was more conflict. And the conversation between the three scientists was wild to include. Hopefully it was for a reason.

A good few nuggets in tonight’s read. Jotted down some thoughts in my notes app.

Appreciate the acknowledgement of not knowing what pronouns to call rocky.

Actual alien contact was a bit surprising to me. Do appreciate the authors willingness to “defy” established science with the cylinder because they are in a realm of unknown. It shows that it’s not just a single unique thing is different. The initial communication method between the two is also nice as it make perfect “sense”
