With a completely new setting & Lennox’s girlfriend awkwardly involved in a murder during a silent film session, the story seems more convoluted than usual in this early part of the book. Also, Lennox has shot the hotel’s “bath boy” accidentally, and seems basically uncaring about it, except to offer some monetary recompense to help his family. I have no idea where that thread of the story may end up.
