Jayson’s Reviews > Green Lanterns, Vol. 3: Polarity > Status Update
Jayson
is on page 155 of 163

Notes:
(1) There's not much closure at the end of this. In fact, quite the opposite, there's loose threads galore!
- It looks like most of them aren't going to be addressed any time soon, since Simon and Jessica are unceremoniously whisked into space.
(2) Seemingly, the next book will check off the third aspect of being a Green Lantern: working with the Green Lantern Corps.

Notes:
(1) We get Volthoom's origin story in issue #18. It's interesting enough, but the most noteworthy thing about it is Daniel Henrique's inks over Robson Rocha's pencils.
- A real departure from how it's been. Just really brushy and textured.
(2) We get some editor's notes about these issues taking place after big crossover events.
- I can't say it's strictly necessary.

Notes:
(1) I'm coming to think Humphries may only have one gear when it comes to writing characters, which is to go the jokey route.
- It works better with Justice League team-ups than with just Batman.
(2) Simon and Batman get into a gun debate, which Batman wins handily, of course.
- I don't really mind it, I just wish the pro-gun position wasn't so obviously a straw man.

Notes:
(1) Apparently, this volume has Simon and Jessica working with the Justice League.
- Well, that's two aspects of the job down. With working alone and working with the Justice League checked off, all that's left for the rookie Lanterns is to work with the rest of the Green Lantern Corps.
- Should be interesting how Humphries writes more serious characters like Batman.
