the characters feel flat compared to Funny Story. I’m a little tired of being told “it’s a small town.” And talk about Nora being a Shark. There is a lot of telling and not a lot of showing. So Nora has trouble leaving work during her work hours? I’m not sure how that makes her an ice queen? The people she loves, she really loves. Hopefully the ending saves the book from the trudge of the first 2/3rds.
