it still gives 3rd grade writing at some times but there are a few paragraphs like this one:
“Usually I miss someone who didn’t even exist. I’ve been wanting to feel complete my whole life, and I felt it then, and my hotel room with the courtyard air that smelled of rain and earth. I’d always thought I needed someone else, something specific that would cure me, when maybe all I needed was just to not think”

i don’t like the writing so far which is heartbreaking bc i love a late stage coming of age story
