“From up the river, we see two boats approaching. They're identical to ours: no canopy, filled with people, and big red gasoline barrels near the back. The boats are painted white with a dark-blue rim and are nameless, which makes me remember what fishermen say back home: "A boat needs a name, or it sinks."
