How completely iconic Sgt Pepper’s is!!! It’s so fascinating how many masterpiece songs here were created by looping or playing backwards and honestly just happy accidents. There’s not a single skip on this album (I don’t agree with this book’s opinion on Lovely Rita being weak as it always makes me dance).

Last released studio album, Let It Be - a very different direction for them full of fights, however every song I really loved as I do with most of their later stuff. The rooftop concert is forever iconic and always fun to watch. I still need to watch the Get Back sessions. Also - let’s start blaming Phil Spector for driving off Paul and not Yoko, yeah??

Singles Don’t Let Me Down / You Know My Name - I love the first song and always think of the rooftop concert and them laughing with John’s mess up, the second had such a great story from Paul about his friendship with John

The Ballad of John and Yoko / Old Brown Shoe - the first is one of my fave Beatles songs of all time and I loved reading about John and Paul’s collab on it. The second is a head bopper for sure

Yellow Submarine - I felt bad about forgetting this album until I read that they also forgot about it and treated it as their leftovers lol. My fave is surprisingly a George song, Only a Northern Song. The background was interesting and it was soothing

Singles Hello, Goodbye/Lady Madonna/Inner Light - the first two are really fun ones I have good memories from my childhood, and I even finally liked one of George’s Indian inspired pieces with Inner Light. I can’t believe I have one more album left in this book (seeing as I already read the White album and Abbey Road)

Magical Mystery Tour - such a short album but I love hearing the beginning of a huge cohesive feel that makes their albums after this one so great. The Fool on the Hill and I Am the Walrus are of course some of the best Beatles songs but I like the slower ones such as Flying

Singles All You Need is Love/Baby You’re a Rich Man - the first’s history as a song recorded for a live BBC international show (it’s first ever) was really fun and the second was insanely catchy

Double A Side Strawberry Fields Forever/Penny Lane - really no words could ever describe how I feel about SFF, my favorite Beatles song and all my childhood nostalgia and fantastical daydreaming it unlocked in me. Penny Lane being on A side with it makes so much sense since these are both foundational everlasting songs for the band.

Singles Paperback Writer/Rain - I have loved Paperback Writer for so many years and it was fun reading into the history. It was my first listen of Rain which I thought was really strong

Revolver - one of my least favorite Beatles albums, even with some gems like Here There Everywhere and Eleanor Rigby. I just feel like it&: not John’s strongest and really all of their style feels subdued. Luckily I know that the result of this album leads to my favorite eras of theirs
