I don't understand the reviews saying this book started out slow. There was blood and spicy scenes before I even got 10% of the way into the book. 20% and the mc is already well on their way to reaching their goal.
On a different note, though, I love the authors writing style. It's a YA fantasy that so far can be compared to Forth Wing, but the writing style is far better than most books published today.
