I'm getting a little confused by this book by the way it kind of goes between talking about different people, but I understand how that helps build the story up to the moment of DiMaggio's big number 56. Over all it is really good so far and I can't wait to see what other type of writing there is in this book.

Bugs were everywhere, dancing around the hot rectangular banks of lights that shone down upon Griffith Stadium. In quiet moments ou could hear them, as a gleeful swarm of gnats...who seemed to believe that all this gorgeous brightness had suddenly appeared. This makes the bugs look like dancers in the light. It works to me because it puts that nice twist to the story talking about bugs.

"The next three men reached base and then George Selkirk...Twinkle-toes for his running style, heels-up in a kind of prance-..."
It develops Selkirk into a character that has a funny nickname because of the way he runs (Prances) in a game, and it also gives a humor mood off.

"...he would stand by himself looking at everything and no one, never once asking one of the girls to dance. And now he was married to a show girl."
This quote shows more about Joe DiMaggio. It shows that when he was smaller that he was very shy, and now in his older age he is surprised that he is married to this show girl.
