I really, really dislike this trend of FMCs drooling over their obvious love interest when they should be paying attention to something else. ESPECIALLY when they apparently feel self-loathing about their thoughts about said love interest not even two pages prior. Doesn't really give me the impression that any kind of real depth or development is coming.
