This book is so good, and ended up going a direction I wasn’t expecting. Haldeman’s little non-fiction snippets throughout, the turn Spider’s story took, and all the specific details about Vietnam leaves me with no doubt the author fought in the war. I’ve learned more about everyday soldier life from this book than any of the nonfiction Vietnam books I’ve read. Will add more details in full review
