Thoughts so far? I read this book when it first came out and it blew my mind. I was quite young at the time so even the philosphizing at the beginning of chapters hit, but not as much as the spin kicks lol. Really hope you’re having fun. Then you can watch the show if you haven’t already which is decent.

Hi Bobby. Yes, I'll wait until I finish to watch the show. I'm moving to India next week. Like Lin, I'm kind of running away from my country (😢🥲🥹😂🤣), but unlike Lin, I've planned this for over a decade. I think the books age shows up a bit, but I'm having fun with it. I wonder which bits are truly autobiographical and which are fictionalized. I like the glamorization of gang life - it exists in every country, so might as well make it seem fun, and I like the way the author appreciates the people and culture. Hoping to finish it today.
