Oof, still not a big fan, especially compared to The Odyssey!

Finished the intro! :) Some pretty fascinating stuff about how we got Homer’s epics and the many scholarly beliefs and theories through the centuries!

Listening to the audiobook for the Robert Fagles translation. Super enjoying the introduction so far (it’s three hours long!) — I love learning more about the history of The Iliad, the speculation about if Homer technically “wrote” it and when, etc! I’m hoping I’ll appreciate it all a bit more this time, on my second read (my first read, last year, was Robert Fitzgerald translation, also on audiobook)! :)

Odysseus, Nestor, & Athena are the only three characters with braincells anywhere in sight! XD Also Odysseus is seriously cracking me up with his varied reactions to things!
