I've put this one off for far too long, though I suppose the best time to read your favourite writer's latest novel is when the next one is definitely on the horizon, right?

Such a contrast with Ishiguro's cerebral games of chess on a board embroidered with musical notes and instruments as an afterthought. This is the truth of it, the groove and the reverb, the sweat, tears, lifeblood, hopes and dreams.
