The first two chapters are such a bad start to the book, honestly. There is some dialogue and lines that are ROUGH. But it really picks up quickly. I didn’t like the writing style at first either but I had a “I get it now” moment a bit into it, the descriptions are just enough to get you into the scenes but not so much that the gore is disgusting.
