I don't normally post until after I've finished a book, but after finishing chapter one I am so very confused as to all the high reviews on this book. The first chapter is spent listening to a whiney inner monolog and the wording choices and writing are just....what im saying is im so very confused as to how this is a hot book right now. I'm giving it until chapter 10, but its looking like a DNF

Recap after chapter two: i know hes going to be a whole problem, the "foreshadowing" is there and predictable but the man who looks like Lord Voldemort and Rasputin (the Disney Anastasia version) made a love child that was blessed by the slender man ... hes probably the coolest thing that has happened so far. FMC is still trash, I...I still don't understand.

No shade at all to those of you that have loved this book, promise, we love what we love and that is okay. Maybe this will improve for me.
