interesting reading about how Ruppelt had to get in touch with various other experts in the relevant scientific disciplines from physics over geology to psychology in order to assemble his Project Blue Book term, as well as them using 1950's era computers to create databases of UFO reports to compare with each other

Ruppelt's account of the July 1952 Washington DC UFO wave is by far the least sensationalistic description of it I have ever read from someone who didn't find a satisfying skeptical explanation. (and by then Ruppelt was himself a level too skeptical for many people in the Air Force as well as UFO circles)
The following chapter involves an elaborate UFO hoax by a Florida scoutmaster I have never heard of until now.

Found out that I had this in PDF form on my computer, was probably sent it online by a fellow UFO enthusiast. At any rate it's fascinating to read the firsthand accounts of the USAF's research into UFOs during the late 1940's and early 1950's. Including cases that were high profile at the same but have since been forgotten, like the green meteor-like fireballs over Albuquerque, NM. (I think?)
