1. Love how La Guin codes her beliefs into the book, esp. Taoism.
2. It’s set on a planet where people are androgynous for most of the time. That said, LG uses “him/he” and “brother” for all. Ik I’m looking at it thru modern lens, but it gives the impression that the planet is entirely male, not genderless. Wonder if she considered republishing w/ diff language to enhance her point, not undermine it.
