It's quite simple really, but also complex: Glutamate opens the calcium channels, and without the guidance of magnesium, calcium will readily enter the neuron; thus, calcium causes inflammation and the genesis of free radicals; with the dearth of antioxidants this leads to an exacerbation of damage. Ultimately, neuronal damage and/or death occurs. Free body glutamate from MSG can stay in the brain for 24 hours.

Thus, the solution is to eat a fresh, organic diet. There are myriads of forms glutamate and aspartane and other excititory neurotoxins. Thus, the only way to avoid these dangerous amino acids completely is eat as fresh as possible. It's frightening to think that the average American consumes 10g of MSG per day! WOW! "Knowledge is power." Yes, it is Sir Francis Bacon. Amazing book, I feel like I'm in school again!

I'm learning so much from this highly technical book. It's all starting to make sense with the advent of the precipitous rise of neurodegenerative diseases like Huntington's, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), and many more. The common root cause of all these disorders excluding genetic reasonings: accumulative damage from environmental damage, especially from excitoneurotoxic amino acids.

Why Millennials and the following cohorts of the Generation Z are literally getting dumber (lower IQs, test scores, etc.): the combination of exposures to myriads of vaccines and the heavy metals they contain, the pernicious substances in our food (GMOs and excitotoxins like MSG and Aspartame), prescription medications like Adderall, dental amalgams (mercury), fluoride in our water, and a dumbed-down education.
