I have a high cringe tolerance but im struggling w/ this one

in a way it’s very … highschool? it’s extremely manic pixie dream girl-rom-com-y which is not what I hoped or expected

in a way I appreciate the cringe because when it was published there hadn’t really been as much of that “genre” with queer stories but regardless it’s a little painful to listen to at points
