Chapter 19: Overland Hotel. Right here we know what social circle he resides in, those that include Paris Hilton, which is about a million circles above us mortals. Also, from someone who's mom works in a hospital it's always the "big, strong, tough" ones who can't handle surgery. I swear I've no sympathy for people who don't follow the Dr's advice. I thought he would have learned those lessons by now...

The one thing better about this book compared to Dark World is the subheadings for chapters and the "fun facts." The number of times I've chocked on my lunch or snorted on the bus is too many. For example, Dolls: I hate them = chocked on orange. I just wish more of the author's personality shone through, still feels a bit like an act, like what we expect to hear from him.

There is something about this book that keeps making me want to comment. I think there are total signs that he is depressed or something isn't right. also saying "Don't be alarmed; I'm not suicidal." My therapist calls those active suicide thoughts even if you never, ever plan to act on them. Maybe it's worrisome because this isn't a fiction book but a peak into his head?

I keep hoping to learn something more meaningful. He keeps talking about how in "real life" he is different than the TV persons; then show me! He needs someone to be a small, soothing voice. Example chapter -Crackheads in Reno. An almost fight and then you went back the next day to find the people? Sigh... no wonder he has relationship troubles...

I feel mildly concerned for the author. I'm constantly having these conversations in my head (like when I talk to the TV). Example: "Sweetie, no one likes how vapid pop culture is or the focus on material things but you need to interact with others and not sit in your house alone or work all the time." I'm over the whole "Demon House" at least give me more information if it's mentioned so often.

So far a better opening then his last book. I must be in a strange mood or been thinking about these things too long but something stood out to me, rituals. As someone with engineering training who can't focus on chemistry or electricity because I can't see it, even I know you shouldn't start a ritual and not finish. Could this have caused other problems for the author?
