I am so happy I finally read this book. This is a story I know from seeing the original War of the World on AMC. The story actually felt fresh and new. It was a new story me, because I have very little context, except for what I know about late 19th century England. It's interesting how H.G. Wells predicts lazers while entertaining philosophical questions.
