I read 60 pages in one setting and honestly, I don't even know how to describe what I just read. What Popina and her older sister went through is so heartbreaking, she beautiful explains how freedom is also the ability to be able to live life and do things as normal human beings. The innocence you have as a child completely unaware of your surroundings till trouble strikes, you mature quickly. I knew DRC had troubles in the past especially with the rebels but I never knew how horrible it was and what the local people suffered. While reading I've been strong because this book can bring painful tears to your eyes.
