Also, I’m wondering if the author of the Yellow Wallpaper short story read this book?? A specific passage of this really reminded me of the former, gave me a chill honestly, I need to look into this more later. I’d be quite pleased if it turns out that connection exists!! I should re-read that short story while I’m at it.

Vol. 1, pg. 155. I prefer this pacing to Emily’s sister’s in Jane Eyre. It’s picked up and I’m enjoying the erudite diction and learning Middle English words!! Isabella Linton is quite goofy, Catherine is a little pot-stirrer (and sadly I find her and me have a selection of traits in common), Heathcliff makes me think of Mr. Hyde but without the disfigurement. Ellen Dean is probably best character!

Actually ~35%, I’m at 142/405 pgs total, for the ebook!

Vol. 1, ch. 12. Things are starting to really heat up in these flashbacks/retold histories! But to what end, I cannot yet divine.
