Ok I'm really into this book but Meghan's mom is a terrible parent. I have been thinking about this all day. I know she's a single mom of 4 and her job as a nurse is super important and there's backstory I don't know yet, but Meghan gets hauled to the police station for questioning and Mom is all lalala I have to work. Like, bitch, no you do not. You need to hire a lawyer for your kid.
