Who didn't see it coming but also.. if you altered that young and secluded how would you?

ooof that time jump, and lack of character establishment or seeing the MC change of character while being on a long hard trip of discovery just makes everything so hollow. We are just told about her journey in useless irrelevant bits, no inner changes were witnessed how they came about or how friendships came about. Show me, don't tell me. It all feels verrrrrrrrrry flat. Very convenient and unimaginative. So sad.
