I first read Deadeye Dick when it came out in 1982. I liked it but it didn't grab me. Reading it again some 40+ years later made me appreciate how prescient KV was. He was an expert of the human condition. I plan to reread more of his works.

I should give him another try too. I didn’t appreciate him as much when I was a teen.
