Hi Jill, this book caught my eye. I had read a book called Creativity and Disease. It went over how many great artists' work was affected by their physical handicaps but led to their greatest work. Modigliani was one of my favorite artists. I saw a movie with Andy Garcia playing his roll. He died at 35. The movie was not exactly true to life, so when I saw this book, I was intrigued. It is covering 1904 to 1920. Montmartre, the famous Artist quarter. It's a pricy but nicey book. A good read so far. My only difficulty is the pronunciations of the French names of persons and places. I started trying to learn the French language a few years ago as an enjoyable challenge. I find myself going to online translator/pronunciation sites to get it right in my mind. Font is a nice size. It's one of those odd gems you can stumble on to. Imho.
