Brutal. I’ve been enjoying the stories with children as main characters the most. This was just about adults, but even then Evans nails it.

Oh, the ending to that story was a gut punch. Short story collections/anthologies can be hit or miss fir me because when I really enjoy an author’s work I want to really savor a longer work - although I’ve been enjoying novellas lately but even those are longer. Evan’s, though, nails every format for me.
