A necessary read for Hunter fanatics. This book goes many layers deep into revealing what an irreplaceable , no holds barred gonzo journalist & author he was. His '72 presidential campaign ramblings ring true in 2012. When comparing McGovern & Nixon, Thompson states " Jesus! where will it end? How low do you have to stoop in this country to be president?"
