Murakami draws on this idea of “invisible boundaries” we create for ourselves at a young age to protect ourselves from getting hurt by the world’s harms and to keep our lives in order . Reminded me of Lila’s greatest fear of “dissolving boundaries” and the way she intricately compartmentalized her feelings in My Brilliant Friend. I like it 👍
