Tremendously interesting. Herzog has a lot to say but it's a certain kind of arrogant humility: rising from literal starvation as a child, he puts himself repeatedly into the face of nature and destruction. How he prevailed is a matter of luck—maybe will. He makes himself a sacrifice, almost, to the unfeeling nature of the universe he perceives. Yet, he creates and can't stop himself. Beautiful to read.
