Adler describes how once you commit yourself to loving others you’ll feel like you’re contributing which will then give you happiness. He also says there is no ‘destined ones’ people overlook others because they’re looking for ‘the one’ that just doesn’t exist. Finally self reliance is attained once you love others unconditionally and can live a less self centered life. Worry less about you.

Essentially insecurity or negative feelings come from when one doesn’t feel like they are contributing to their community or compare their contributions to others and deem theirs as “worse” or others as “better.” Adler argues when one accepts that life isn’t about being better or more flashy, life is a wheel that can’t spin without each of us. Nothing is objectively “better” only a better attitude.
