DNF’d this book at 14%. MMC wakes up to find his wife deceased beside him in bed. Oh my god the love of his life, his badass, hardworking divorce attorney wife and devoted mother to their two daughters has taken sleeping pills to commit suicide. (That’s your first thought???) Let me scour the house to find all the pill bottles and count them. 🧐 (That’s your second thought???) He references her anxiety and MENTAL ILLNESS so much!! (You know that mental illness that interfered with her ability to be a badass divorce attorney and work long hours.) Oh no 😱 she’s actually been strangled. Let me stuff her dead body in a sleeping bag and hide it in an unfinished, abandoned subdivision and then call her mom to say hey your daughter is dead while I start my own investigation so I don’t get blamed for this. Sounds to me like it’s really the MMC who’s mentally ill!! NO THANK YOU!! Don’t waste your time on this book!
