Lying, Conniving, Nymphomaniac. The writer needs to understand that yes while seeking refuge in other forms of spiritualism is understane because the Church is explicitly homophobic, subscribing to astrology is not helping him make sense of the world either.

Third/b>. But what did the weird, sexual intro have to do with anything.

To My Darling Daughter, On your 18th Birthday. Midde Adult writers really are better. Maturity does more for writing than having all the literary devices stacked on top of each other. Tender, world weary, and powerful.

From Jumaji to Jurassic Park. Overwritten sentences. Stray elitist remarks here and there. The details and the beach setting reminds me of the type of essays elem students do for english class: ‘What I did last summer’. The story is an interesting snapshot, content > form here

Ang (mga) lalaki sa buhay n(g) (ma-)elya. Lively, introspective, full of character. Perhaps my current fav here, for being the first Filipino literary essay I've read in beki language. Like, the entire thing is in that voice. Asides from recording the slang, I think its so powerful that a language created by Pinoy gays is in a published essay bc this life narrative tackles a very human pain: love lost

Garden of Earthly Delights. Highbrow content. Stylish, smart, sure-handed. Liked how it committed to the idea of the human experince’s contradictory duplicity not just in its content but by having a scholarly posture in discussing their own carnal desires.

sifr. Incredibly well done. Story that’s mature in tone, complete in execution. Succeeds in sympathetically portraying a complicated situation bc the author understands what the story is at its core and then builds the essay towards capturing that.

He, She, Me, Her. It seems disjointed, although it is well-written on a sentence and segment level

Disgrasyada. Uhhh, on one hand I really admite the courage it took the author to share their sexual awakening (and the story telling of this one was the best so far bc the whole idea was communicated through plot). On the other hand, you could not waterboard this information out of me

Penisology. Polished, if a bit generic. Would have been the best so far if it didnt end with the author telling us at 15 years old he was taken advantage of by his scout master…. and seemingly not realizing this story’s bad gravity…..
