The grass is always greener on the other side.
Tom is a very physical well presenting(?) person with I guess a lot of rep to live up to. Hes married to Daisy, a smart women. He has a mistress who is rather round and typically being round could symbolize wealth and I guess a status symbol. Like someone spoiled, and hes trying to hide her n stuff.. maybe that means sumthing.

If Im correct, Daisy represents the American dream which cannot be attained and Gatsby repersents the american dream, but cannot attain Daisy. Meaning that the American dream isnt achievable even when you have or are the american dream?
