Firmly in the frustrating “mid” zone—nothing so far stands out, good or bad.
It’s forgettable, but not painful to read. Just... there.

Not impressed, not actively turned off. Just... passable. Mediocre.
There is a hook, but it feels contrived. It already seems like this will be one of those books where the worldbuilding warps to fit the plot, instead of the plot emerging organically from the world.
That said, it’s not too painful to get through, but it doesn’t offer much depth or originality.
