So I knew this was a retelling of Mulan going in, but I was expecting something to differentiate it from the source material. So far this feels like nearly a 1 to 1 retelling of Mulan, with the only real change being her name is Meilin (really? you changed 3 letters?). This isn't to say I haven't been enjoying it so far, because I have, but it's bothering me that it isn't differentiating itself much yet.
