Chapter 1
Mathematics is a form of extended cognition likened to the cyclosa octotuberculata spider. Mathematics can help describe many phenomenons more precisely, consistently and help eliminate vagueness. This can be useful in explaining scientific ideas in areas such as biology. However mathematics does help simplify complex ideas by eliminating little details and obsessing on aesthetics

The book so far has explained how mathematics focuses more or simplification rather than accuracy. That in the sense might not be a bad thing after all, there are so many complex things including the brain that cannot be understood without that simplification. However there is a need to understand what details can be thrown out and what should remain. Mathematical models can also help scientists perceive outcomes.
