- I didn't know there was a petition to the UN to charge the US with genocide against black people. I am wondering what the outcome of that was.
- I found out about Hrant Dink. I'll read more about him.
- Angela Davis soo graciously draws parallels and connections between struggles all over the world. I am mesmerised!
- The more I learn, the more I understand that slavery is not a relic of the past. Far from that.

Starting my morning right, listening to Angela Davis at breakfast :))
I learned about the Palestinian Freedom Rides (inspired by the ones from the 60s, from the Civil Rights Movement).
I love how she said that supporting something (eg queer people being accepted in the army) while being critical about that (obv being against militarization) is a feminist way of thinking. Critical support.

I am in my exam period; I got a hyperfixation on listening to this audiobook instead... I love chapter 8. The transition in Angela's speech from racism and police violence to queerness, trans and non-binary people, gender and sexuality in their infinite expressions, and feminism through a multifaceted perspective was so smooth, and it helped in making the point that all these struggles are interconnected and systemic

I may be procrastinating sleeping by listening to Angela Davis' brilliant speeches :)
- I love the Black Panthers and their 10-point programme. It should be printed and featured everywhere. I should read more about them and their history.
- Terrorism is such a biased and overused, meaningless word. Only used by oppressors to justify their crimes.
I really wish to attend one of Angela's lectures or events ❤️

"I don't think we have any alternative other than remaining optimistic. Optimism is an absolute necessity"
I need to hear this from time to time. Struggling in this current world leaves you often wondering why and how can I continue doing activism when everything seems to be doomed.
I am listening to the audiobook, which is narrated by Angela herself. I love how clear she is in expressing her ideas, everything!

E Money The Cat Not much outcome beyond optics. Unfortunately the US has waaaay too much power for anything at the UN to threaten it.

For example, the US awarded itself veto powers at the formation of three UN. Something that goes beyond what any other country can do at the UN. So anything the US doesnt like always gets buried no matter the outcome of the vote.

For example, the decades-long illegal blockade of Cuba. Every time theres a vote it’s 100+ votes against US and Israel. But it gets Vetoed so no actions are taken against the US.

E Money The Cat Or the UN vote to make FOOD ACCESS a human right. 186 voted in favor, US and Israel voted against. So it fails to pass.

E Money The Cat Not to mention today there is the *coughs* Hague Invasion Act.

Iliiiiiiiii This is sooooo stupid and infuriating! How can a single country have veto power? This doesn't make any sense, and it's definitely not democratic. I know this is obvious, but it's still so frustrating. Basically, UN exists for nothing. It's useless. Kinda the same with the ICJ.

Iliiiiiiiii I am so curious about the arguments against making food access a human right. Like, what were even the lies or excuses they tried to utter. I understand and it's obvious why the US and Israel were against.

Iliiiiiiiii I just read about the Hague Invasion Act. HOW IS THIS A LAW?!! HOW CAN THE US JUST DO WHATEVER THE HELL THEY WANT WITH 0 CONSEQUENCES?! Why did everyone in the world let them get to this point and have so much power😭
