i feel like ve schwab exists between speculative fiction and literary fiction but since she cant commit to a specific storytelling and message, her writing falls flat. the story is boring if it's speculative fiction. the story has no message or impact if it's literary fiction. her books and writing exist in a limbo and theyre so uninspiring.
