overall i enjoyed it!! the premise was super intriguing, i loved that it had way more of a horror vibe than i had realized going in, really loved the complex and morally dubious decisions made by the characters, and especially appreciated the way the author executed the idea that people are not given good choices. like the harm caused by devon for example is like, a product of what she’s been through and a result of harm thats been done to her, and it’s still harm even while she didn’t have other options. i really liked that. there were parts of it that i think ended up doing more telling what the takeaways should be instead of showing me, some of the worldbuilding i think needed a little more development, but overall i did enjoy it especially on the character ends
