I believe in reading books that challenge you and make you uncomfortable, and this is one that is a hard read for me...but an extremely important one. This is a hard look at the foster care system and our cultural narratives about adoption (particularly transracial adoption), and I've seen almost everything described in this book first hand as a foster parent myself.
