If you’ve read Hunter S. Thompson’s Hells Angels as well as Hells Angel: The Life and Times of Sonny Barger, George Whether’s raw and real recounting as a prominent member (once Vice President) makes for a great encore. It doesn’t romanticize the outlaws as much as Barger and pulls back the curtain on much of Tompson’s gonzo reporting. A Wayward Angels shares the grim realities of life as a Hells Angel.
