I have long wished to book my own stay at the refuge for lost souls… or, at the lushly forested infirmary the book seems to promise….

I have a more Merton-like wish for a monastery of silence, only instead of matins and chants, the freedom to read, write, and walk the grounds.
All that illness in the Alps would drag me down.
