This book gives a new perspective into the life and love of Sally Hemings. Yet, I continue to question the historical accuracy the more i read. It makes you wonder, did Sally really feel this way? Did she love Thomas Jefferson truly, or did she say she loved him because she felt she had to. We had no autonomy then. It’s hard coping with the fact that we’ll never know the truth of such a controversial true story.
