They have an expression I heard used in England quite recently which made me laugh. (I have a loud laugh that is perhaps off-putting.
I often try to dim it down.) The expression was get over yourself. I think this a good one for many reasons; perhaps all of the problems of the world are to do with the fact that we simply cannot, any of us, anywhere, get over ourselves.
