The author is so dedicated to bringing down Randy Shiltz and his book "And The Band Played On" but he ended up using virtually all of Shiltz research and regurgitated all of it for the first 5 chapters. McKay had the benefit of 30 years of research and a Canadian upbringing. He wasn't in the thick of it, nor was he ever infected himself. Gaetan Dugas was humanized though and that was good.

So far, this is the author trying to decimate Randy Shilts and his book And The Band Played On. That's what I'm picking up.
