there is a dissonance between the narrative breaking down the importance of every pivotal moment and the lack of her drawing very simple conclusions that completely throws me off. thank you for explaining in detail what’s happening under the surface. and yet you cannot figure this simple thing out. I could write an essay about these books

Having realised that she’s a Very unreliable narrator, it makes the book a little easier to bear. However I still hate following her. All of her opponents are right. She is impulsive, not very smart, and shouldn’t have any power. All of the traits she had in the start of book 1 just vanished.

I feel like I'm missing something, I don't understand how people can root for the main character but apparently people do? It's so fine having an unlikeable mc but she's just so... inconsistent.
