Several of the premises of the art of war surfaced in this novel, including the following: make the enemy, think you're far when you're near and near when you're far, and wore a strike it, what is weak and avoid what is strong, and finally, if you are of equal number and can surprise the enemy, go ahead and fight the enemy out numbers you do not engage.

The story of times escape from his contraption in the stable, was quite moving. It's definitely a story about how never to give up, and how the Armed Forces teach people good things about survival.

The mother was ghastly and uncaring . So much so that the main character Tom would rather be back at war in Afghanistan
